Whether it’s a weekly occurrence or an occasional treat, a takeaway is the perfect way to enjoy great food without having to worry about the hassle of shopping or cooking. But where’s the best takeaway in Bournemouth? From pizza and Indian to Lebanese and Thai food, we really are spoilt for choice. If you’re looking to up your takeaway game, work your way through the ones we love so much that we have them on speed dial...
Lebanese food isn’t normally the first choice for many when ordering a takeaway...but we can’t get enough of it! Service from The Luxor is always amazing - and the food is fantastic too. We definitely recommend ordering the Luxor Tasting Plate to Share: it’s a great way to try a little bit of everything, from their silky smooth houmous to their herby tabbouleh salad.

Opposite the train station you’ll find the Bournemouth Pizza Co, known for its fantastic dough prepared freshly each day and its generous and fresh toppings. Their wood-fired oven gives the pizzas a seriously great flavour, and you’ll find topping combinations that are different to the norm too. Our favourite is the Al Cinghiale with wild boar salami, mozzarella and spring greens - vegans are well catered for with vegan cheese and meat toppings too...

Indian food is a popular takeaway choice, and Spice of Lahore is a no-frills restaurant that just focuses on great quality, honest food with service to match. Portions are generous (so beware of over-ordering!), and the chefs certainly know their way around a spice rack. Start with the king prawn puri (prawns in a spiced tomato-based sauce on a crispy flat bread), and try the naga chicken if you like your food hot, hot, hot!
Spice of Lahore, 238 Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, BH1 1PE
If you get the chance to dine in at Koh Thai Tapas, then you definitely should: it’s an amazing place that’s beautifully decorated. If you still want a tasty Thai treat without leaving the house, though, their food is equally as good when you choose a takeaway! Choose from their fantastic Thai tapas menu (it’s a great way to try a number of different dishes), or go for a starter and main...whatever you do, try their 24-hour slow-cooked pork ribs, which are meltingly tender and bursting with flavour...

Our favourite thing about The Mandarin (which has been run by the same family since 1969) is their takeaway feasts menu - choose from a set feast, or tell them your budget and your food preferences, and they’ll create a surprise banquet to order - now that’s service! If you do this, though, make sure you let them know that you want to try the crispy Mongolian lamb - it’s our favourite...
